It was a unique celebration, wherein paying heed to the exhortation of our Beloved Holy Father, we ventured out into the ‘peripheries’ reaching out to one of the most neglected groups of society – the transgenders.
The community of Mazzarello Youth Centre organised a small celebration at Grace Harvest Orphanage with the collaboration of an NGO. We invited a group of transgenders and spent time listening and talking to them. Many of them had a sad story to share. We began with a small prayer moment, followed by games with interesting prizes. Daniel, a transgender himself who has done his PHD in Human Rights shared his knowledge with them and told them how they are due to certain rights. We concluded with a fellowship meal
