The 6th of March 2018, another memorable day in the annals of our Institute began with a solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist. His Lordship Most Rev. Barthol Barretto presided over the Eucharistic banquet and began the Holy Mass by inviting the entire congregation to rejoice and celebrate at the presence of Mother Yvonne Reungoat. In his homily, he stressed on the fact that only when we forgive others from the heart, our heavenly Father forgives us. He went on to quote Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of our Nation saying, “The highest form of love is forgiveness”. And thus we need to forgive because we have a merciful 
Father who loves and forgives us all the time. As His grace sent us forth with the final blessing, He thanked Mother Yvonne and appreciated the presence and the work of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in the pastoral mission in the Archdiocese. With an assurance of prayers, Bishop conveyed his best wishes to Mother to continue carrying on the good work of spreading the Good News to all.
After a quick breakfast, Mother Yvonne, Bishop Barthol and all the sisters proceeded towards Auxilium School where the new inter-faith prayer room was to be inaugurated.The prayer room was blessed by Bishop Barthol Barretto, Auxiliary Bishop of Bombay and inaugurated by Mother Yvonne Reungoat, FMA Superior General.
Mother was then escorted by Sr. Rita Dora Thomas, Sr. Meenakshi D’Silva and the other sisters to the school 
quadrangle for a welcome programme animated by the school students and staff. The programme began with an affable welcome address to Mother whic
h described her as a person with a humble heart and sweet smile. She was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a traditional shawl and a garland by Sr. Meenakshi D’Silva, Sr. Gloria Ferrao and Sr. Maria Shirsath respectively. The representatives of teachers, workers and students offered her a gift as a token of their love and appreciation. The students of the primary section staged a 
wonderful mime act on the theme “Save water, save
life”. Mother Yvonne was delighted to see their heart touching performance and in her few words of advice to them, she told the students to study well, have right convictions and be good and honest human beings for they are the future of society and that the love of God, of parents, friends, sisters and study is like water which is extremely important and which helps one to grow in all aspects of life. She concluded by exhorting them to be happy always since they are deeply loved by God. The welcome programme ended with a vote of thanks. Each group consisting of the teaching and non-teaching staff gathered around Mother to click photographs and cherish these unforgettable memories forever.
At 10:00 am, Mother met the temporary professed sisters in the AMAR 
media hall in Mazzarello youth centre. The gathering began with a short prayer invoking the Holy Spirit to rain down wisdom and knowledge, thus enabling them to live the Salesian charism effectively.
At 11:30, Mother met the members of the Auxilium Youth Movement who came from the different houses of Maharashtra. Mother Yvonne and the other sisters were welcomed by placing delicate and colourful tiaras adorning their heads. After the lighting of the lamp that mother was felicitated with a shawl by the Headmistress of Auxilium Ahmednagar – Sr. Lata Arogiaswamy.A cultural programme followed after lighting the lamp. The students of Auxilium, Ahmednagar presented the vibrant Punjabi Bhangra dance whereas the students of Auxilium, Wadala gracefully danced to the AYM Anthem.
Mother addressed the AYM gathering saying that Don Bosco would 
have been thrilled to see you happy and joyful because he always wanted the young to be joyful. Be a sign of hope for all and let your light shine before other youngsters to attract them towards the right path.
Later, a book release ceremony ensued wherein “Dream big, dream true” – a book written by Sr. Teresa Joseph fma, was released by Mother Yvonne. The first copy of the book in Braille was presented to Mr.Arun Kurkute who is sightless. Other Braille copies were also presented to Komal and Prashant. The copies have been translated in Marathi language by Mr. Bernard Rozario and Mrs. Olivia Rozario.
Next, prizes were given away to the winners of the poetry, essay and 
drawing competitions held at the Province level for all the children in our houses. Temporary professed sisters also were presented with gifts for participating in the competition.
To conclude the event, each community together with its AYM members posed with Mother for a photograph to capture the priceless moment forever.
After lunch, the AYM group viewed a Hindi movie titled ‘Padman’ and having enjoyed the time spent in togetherness, each one bid adieu to the other, hoping to meet again as part of one big family.
At 3:00 in the afternoon, Mother met another batch of sisters and spoke at length to them on various issues concerning relationships, religious decorum, Salesian assistance, coherency of life, accompaniment of the young, and the most urgent need to search for and invite vocations to the religious way of living. She summed up her talk by urging each one of us to be always joyful, to go out of our way to search for vocations and define a particular strategy to accompany young people on the path to wholeness and holiness. She embraced each sister with motherly love and affection and presented a token of her love to the gathering as she bid farewell to all.
After a tea break, Mother was escorted to meet the most special and privileged lot – the YAR (Youth at risk). The children from Anmol shelter home, Anmol outreach, NCP and evening study class of the Mazzarello centre were present to meet and express their love and gratitude to Mother Yvonne. Sr. Moksha Antonappa co ordinated the entire programme and acknowledged the help and support provided by the benefactors to this noble cause by gifting them a token of love. A memento was also presented to the teachers and children to mark this memorable event of the visitation of our Mother General.
The children of Anmol, Koparkhairane presented a welcome song for 
Mother whereas the children from Anmol, Rabale did a re-mix dance. Laxmi Patil a girl who has passed out from Anmol, Koparkhairane spoke about her experience with the sisters, appreciating all that was done and being grateful for helping her stand on her own feet and be independent in society. Another girl, Shruti shared her thoughts with the gathering, telling them to dream big and dream dreams that trouble the soul and finally make the dream a reality. Both of them were extremely grateful to the sisters and thanked Mother for what they are today. Mother Yvonne, in her message told the children to study hard, be happy and make the best of what they receive in order to be something great in future.
Later, in the evening, Mother visited the shrine of Don Bosco at Matunga. She also visited the underground crypt and prayed for the intentions of the Province, for the Institute and for each sister. Though the day’s schedule was packed with varied events, Mother’s enchanting and captivating smile rejuvenated our souls and made us feel blessed to have her with us.
