AMAR NEWS # 5 Vocation Camp held at Ahmednagar

 We began with a short prayer service animated by Sr. Agatha F. The theme for the day was “My Vocation as a Christian”. 25 young girls participated in the camp. An ice breaker followed so as to know each other. Sr. Teresa P. then welcomed the young girls with few words of encouragement and told them to participate fully and enjoy the day. The first session was animated by Sr. Mangal K. In her talk she focused on three main points:  Be Happy, Love others, and Learn to make right choices in life. She also stressed on the fact that God gave us life because He loves us; thus we are called and exhorted  to give our life back to Him by serving Him with love.   

After the talk there followed few action songs and interesting games animated by Srs. Nilima and Jostina. Later, Sr. Vandhan M. took a session on Life Skills and ‘Knowing yourself well’. She also gave some group work to help them to love themselves and others.

 After lunch Sr. Shobhna presented the life of Don Bosco “Dream Boy” through the Power Point presentation.

 

Then Sr. Jostina conducted ‘Biblical CALL’. She presented various vocation stories from the Bible wherein she made them reflect on what God wants of them and how they can respond to His call.  They were given time to enact the call of Prophets’ Jeremiah, Samuel, Moses James and John.  After a short break Sr. Nilima R. spoke about Salesian life and its mission among the young through videos and charts. She also asked them questions based on the matter. Those who gave good answers got small prizes.

  A memento of Laura Vicuna was distributed to each one as a remembrance for the day.
