AMAR NEWS # 8 First Profession

‘Christ Jesus has made me his own’

The experience of Jesus’ love is one which calls, invites and challenges us, yet one which is fulfilling, joyful and brings perfect bliss. In response to this unique love of God, on the 24th of May, 2016, we, Sr. Pricilla Bhanga, Sr. Kavita Dias, Sr. Maxina Luji, Sr. Savina Naik and Sr. Ira Viegas, leaped into a future of hope as we publicly professed that we wish to be part of the great Living Monument of Don Bosco, in the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.

We were privileged to have the Provincial of the Mumbai Province, Fr. Godfrey D’Souza to preside over the solemn Eucharistic celebration during which we together with the 8 SDB novices publicly professed that Christ Jesus has made us His own.  In explaining to us the uniqueness of our vocation, Fr. Godfrey made us realize that we are called to be someone different in the world, living a life counter current to the values of the world and thus we need to be courageous and stand firm in any situation of life to the convictions we have formed during our formative journey, giving ourselves wholeheartedly to the young in the mission entrusted to our care. This helped us understand the deeper radical commitment we are called to in making our religious profession. “You did not choose me, no, I chose you……”

We thank our dear Mother Provincial, our Novice Formator,  Sr. Jyothi Pinto, and Sr. Reshma Nune for helping us in our formative journey for the past two years.
