AMAR NEWS # 20 FMA-NDF Meet

The FMA –NDF participants numbered 28 gathered together for the 12th National Development Forum meet on the theme Child Rights; Envisioning Sustainable Changes.

At the Eucharist celebrated by Rev. Fr. Joe Xavier, SJ a symbolic offering of the National flag and the lamp hich was carried by Sr. Isabella Alphonse and the six SDCs holding the colorful ribbons. At 8.45 am the participants assembled in the Chapel verandah for the grand inauguration. Sr. Rita Dora, Provincial of Mumbai Province, Fr. Joe Xavier, FMA NDF consultant, Sr. Isabella Alphonse, National Co-coordinator FMA-NDFC, Mr. Joachim, via Don Bosco, the six SDCs and all the participants were given a grand welcome. A welcome dance was presented by the Auxillians of Wadala. The students from Pratham Institute gave a breathtaking item through street play dance on ‘girl child abuse’. Sr. Isabella Alphonse then officially welcomed the gathering. At the Inauguration Mother General Sr. Yvonne Reungoat’s and Sr. Lucy Rose messages were read out.
Sr. Rita Dora, Provincial of Mumbai Province in her message said “Coming together is solidarity, and we work through Him and with Him for His glory.”
During the key note address Sr. Gracy Fernandez from Nirmala Niketan Institute, said that it’s not enough to develop children in all the ambient but we need to stress on the spirituality of growth.
Sr. Rita Dora released the 11th Annual Report of FMA. After the ice- break the Annual NDF report was presented by the National co-coordinator Sr. Isabella Alphonse and Each SDC’s of the province presented their Annual reports and from the assembly gave the feedback and highlighted the positive efforts carried out by the provinces in this sector.
On the following 2 days experts were invited to speak on the theme Child Rights; Envisioning Sustainable Changes.

Mr. Joachim Lourduswamy, via Don Bosco, who dealt with the topic “What makes an NGO financially Sustainable.
Adv. Sharon Rodrigues spoke on Child rights – current legal systems – our social response.
On the 4th of December there was an exposure visit to the 4 centres to know and have an awareness about other NGO’s work with the children. The following we visited.
1. Namely The Government Children’s Aid society in Chembur .
2. Pratham Institute for vulnerable children
3. Salaam Baalak at Charni road
4. Aarambh at Byculla

On the final day all the provinces prepared and presented 3years planning Matrix for FMA-CPP. The NDF core team met for future planning and evaluation.
This was followed by vote of thanks creatively presented by the provinces, thanking all those who were responsible for the success of the 12th FMA- NDF annual meet.
