The XII South Zonal Conference of Salesian Co-operators held in Don Bosco Vaduthala – Kochi from 10-11 December 2016 with 42 participants took off with gusto on the theme most vital today, “Family & Formation”.
Fr. Joyce, INK Provincial, set the tone for the day in his stimulating homily, quoting Don Bosco: “From the rising of the sun to its setting let us be truly Salesians”.
The theme was well expounded through various creatively presented sessions: Role & Formation of a Salesian Co-operator by Fr. Noel Madichetty – National Delegate of the Salesian Family; Phases of Formation – Mr. D.S. Antuvan – World Councillor of Salesian Cooperators (South-East Asia); Strenna 2017: We are a Family – Fr. Gilbert Choondal Sdb.
The presentation of the Reports led to a challenging Action Plan to focus our energies and resources on common issues across the Province and National level, specifically aimed at Family Ministry and assimilation of PAL (Project of Apostolic Life).
Congrats to the host Province of INK, especially the Ernakulam Unit of Salesian Co-operators, for the excellent organization of this event; it was also an exposition of the best of ‘God’s own country’, including the enchanting rhythms of traditional music and dance, the delicious cuisine and the cherished Kochi Darshan.
